The Explorer
The Explorer, my newest original composition, depicts the experience of using Aira through music. Aira is a service that connects people who are blind or have low vision to professionally trained agents via a smart phone or a set of specially designed glasses. Agents can help people with several tasks including but not limited to, assistance with navigation, job seeking related tasks, small business tasks as well as organizing things around the house. The piece uses the Aira ring tone as a catalyst to take the listener on a journey of different textures and moods to create a sonic adventure. I hope you find this piece to be interesting and exciting, and a big thanks goes out to my wonderful Aira agent who helped me edit this video. Performed by Wayne Pearcy and Matt Savage Philippe Gaubert was a French composer, conductor and flautist who was professor of flute at the Conservatoire de Paris from 1919 until 1931. Although most of his compositions were written for flute, there are several chamber pieces for other instruments, such as this one from 1909. I hope you enjoy this performance.
